Uber’s push for electric vehicles takes charge in Canberra

Canberra’s fleet of rideshare drivers and the ACT Government have welcomed Uber Australia’s move to halve the service fee for driver-partners using electric vehicles, as Uber moves to make all rides in zero-emission vehicles by 2040.

Uber’s latest incentive to halve the service fee for drivers using electric vehicles begins on 1 July, 2021. ACT Minister for Water, Energy and Emissions Reduction Shane Rattenbury said the move will encourage more drivers of electric vehicles to join the platform.
